Jet Grouping of Linear-Shaped Charges and Penetration Performance

There have been many studies on the penetration performance of conical-shaped charges (CSCs) in various applications. These led to a great deal improvement, and even breakthroughs, design CSCs. also positively affected linear-shaped (LSCs), but due comparatively low LSCs there has little theory-based scientific study their performance. In this paper, empirically observed field testing data are presented, including details configuration LSC jet against UHMW-PE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) targets using series flash X-ray exposures. findings compared previously published theoretical analysis order understand nature formation, penetration, classification/grouping jets. After empirical investigations, it was concluded that can be grouped depending particulation distribution pattern, each group exhibits different The relationship between liner collapse angle segment density suggests potential room for improvement.
